Over the last fifteen years Terry has been with the band as its principal trumpet player, and the last five as conductor. Terry is doing a number of things to improve our program quality. He has not only brought new music to the band, but a fresh musical style, and new musicians of all ages drawn from his years of teaching at the High school level.

Back Ground and Training

Terry McPherson, music Director/Conductor, earned a bachelor's degree in music from Cal State University Long Beach, and a Master's degree in music from thr University of California Riverside. He taught music at Eastern Montana College, San Diego City College, and most recently at Lake elsinore High School for the last 25 years. He toured professionally with the Ice Capades Holiday on Ice Tour. He also played for many years with the Pete Ortega Orchestra, The Redlands fourth of July Band, and is currently playing in the Citrus Swing Orchestra as a trumpet soloists.
